Logo Design

Talking about beauty/ aesthetics of a logo, perhaps we'll bump without end because its relativity. But when talk about good or not, we will concern to the functionality, where a logo valued from the function and purpose. We'll see at some of the traits of a good logo and may be helpful tips for the all readers of Source4design:

The characteristics of a good logo are:

1) Simple

The simplicity makes the logo easy to remember and flexible when applied into various visual media.

2) Unique

A good logo have to be unique and easi to recognize among other logo (especially the logo of a competitor).

3) Easy to Remember

A memorable logo will support the company remains in the top position in the minds of consumers. Indirectly this will increase sales and turnover of company.

4) Durable

The logo will certainly last a long time very profitable enterprise. Redesign a logo it will take a lot of cost and time. In addition, changes in the logo also can confuse consumers and even it is not likely to lose many customers.

5) Flexible

The logo will be used into a variety of visual media such as stamps, acrylic, invoices etc. Therefore, a good logo should be placed on a variety of conditions and still not lose its quality.

6) In accordance

The logo should be able to describe what is offered by the company. In this case, the tag line might be able to cover. But we have to get back to the condition where a logo must suitable for a variety of visual media and should stand alone without a tag line.

Vector and Bitmap Image

If we scan or take a picture with the camera, then we're going to save it into a file that had the extension or JPG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, PICT, JPEG. That is what is called a bitmap image or Bitmap Image. While the images created by graphics applications like Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, or Freehand, can be stored as a vector.Files that stored in the form of ordinary vector format WMF, SWF, CDR, EPS, or AI. We can do the conversion of both types of files, from Vector to Bitmap and vice versa. In fact we can also use both types of files were applied together in one file.

1. Bitmap images, is a collections of bits that form an image. Consist of units of dots or pixels that exists at each color called bits, which is the smallest unit of information in computer systems.

Bitmap Image can be form as:
1. Line-art images, an image consisting of two colors, usually black and white. Black to indicate line or boundaries that form the image, and white act as the background. Usually used for computer with low imaging capabilities but working too on computer with high resolution.
2. Grayscale Images, the image consisting of gray-scale density and produces a certain effect on black and white images.
3. Multi tones Images, a picture that consists of many tones. The colors used are Pantone color.
4. Full Color Images, the image that contains a collection of all the colors in CMYK or RGB color guide.

2. Vector images are a series of mathematical instructions that are translated in the form, line, and other parts which are interconnected to form an image. The size of vector images can be changed without reducing quality. Very suitable for making logo, map, or other objects which will be applied to a wide range of print media that require a change of scale.

Pink Frame

This is may first post. It is difficult to start, but i have to make a move... I got this pink frame from dryicon.com. If you want to download the vector one, just go right to the site. I just share what i had. This frame is just part of my frame collection. I still find the best site to upload me vector collection. Okay, can we talk later about vectors, and anything about design?
